Our Services

Meet the Team

Surita Gaspar

Owner and Physiotherapist

Surita graduated from the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 2006. She worked for 11 years in orthopaedic physiotherapy including acute post-operative rehabilitation, outpatient treatment (specifically neck and back injury rehabilitation) and sports injuries.

Surita is also skilled in dry needling, dynamic and kinesio taping. Her further training has covered temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, associated cervicogenic headaches and Orthopaedic Manual Therapy.

Surita moved to Canada with her family in 2017 and bought the Williams Lake Physiotherapy clinic the following year. 

Eghardt Schutte

Physiotherapist

Eghardt graduated from the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 2007. He completed a post-graduate certificate in sports physiotherapy. He completed courses with a focus on concussion assessment and rehabilitation. Furthermore he has undergone training in temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and vestibular disorders, orthopaedic manual therapy and joint manipulations.

Eghardt has worked with numerous professional sports teams including Field Hockey South Africa and Korfball South Africa, as well as club and school rugby and cricket teams, individual professional track athletes and tennis players.

He has lectured at a post-graduate level and presented taping courses, and is certified in dry needling and Orthopaedic Manual Therapy.

Eghardt moved to Canada with his wife and daughter in 2019.

Yvonne Schmidt

Physiotherapist

Yvonne graduated from the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 2006. She has completed courses in dry needling and Dynamic and Kinesio taping.  She is a trained Pilates instructor and completed a specialised course on Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy (OMT) in 2014.

Yvonne has a special interest in Women’s Health and completed Women’s Health training courses in South Africa and Canada. 

She moved to Canada with her husband and two daughters in 2019.

Marie ensures that Williams Lake Physio functions smoothly and in the best interests of all our patients. She has exceptional organisational skills and is committed to delivering patient-focused experiences and the highest levels of customer service at all times.

Along with Marie, Jennifer ensures that all patients arriving at Williams Lake Physio – whether for their first or a repeat appointment – are made to feel warmly welcome. Her superb administrative abilities help our team of physiotherapists maximise their treatment time and focus entirely on therapy.
